PAY SCALE: $22.00 - $29.00 PER HOUR
We are seeking a candidate who enjoys being of service to customers and possesses excellent communication skills for our Financial Service Specialist III (Banker) position at our Roseville branch. An individual who derives satisfaction and accomplishment from assisting others with their financial needs would be successful in our environment. This position is responsible for processing teller transactions, opening new accounts (business, personal and specialty), processing and funding consumer loans, and offering other financial products and services to members. This position requires knowledge of credit union/bank operations, regulations and lending practices and the ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally.
Our FSS III work a fixed schedule, which allows you the work/life balance you need. The selected individual will be scheduled to work 37/40-hours a week as follows:
Monday 8:30 am – 5:30 pm
Tuesday 8:30 am – 5:30 pm
Wednesday 8:30 am – 5:30 pm (Alternating OFF for Saturday)
Thursday 8:30 am - 5:30 pm
Friday 8:45 am – 5:45 pm or 9:15 am - 6:15 pm (Alternating)
Saturday 9:30 am - 2:30 pm (Alternating OFF for Wednesday)
Sunday OFF
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- *Performs all the duties of a Financial Service Specialist I and II.
- *Serves as a primary source of information on new deposit accounts, financial services, and loan products.
- *Engages in consultative dialogue to identify current and future financial needs and guides selection to appropriate products and services (new accounts, consumer loans, business accounts, business loans, real estate referrals, and investment referrals).
- *Opens Business Accounts.
- *As a Mortgage Loan Originator, must register with NMLS Registry and keep registration information current.
- *Meets or exceeds established goals in product sales and service quality as assigned by the Branch Manager.
- *Submit, process and fund consumer loan applications including VISA, home equity, auto, and other loan applications.
- *Obtain and evaluate credit reports. Calculate debt-to-income ratios on consumer loan applicants and calculate how much of a loan applicant’s debt is secured or unsecured.
- *Notify applicant of loan decision. Correspond with members/applicants to resolve questions regarding application information.
- *Ensure loan files contain documents with proper signatures, dates, and other relevant data.
- *Adhere to all Lending policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- *Refer member’s mortgage and investment needs to the appropriate person/department.
- *Mentor and train branch staff in loan and deposit products and services.
- Assists with auditing New Account packets, Loan files and daily branch work.
- *Provides notary services to members.
- *Processes and approves medallion stamp requests.
- *Maintain knowledge and adhere to all SCU’s policies and procedures, rules and regulations, including robbery, Bank Secrecy Act and Money Laundering policies and procedures
- *Assist at other branches, as needed.
- *Maintains effective communication and working relationships with all members and co-workers.
- Participates in external marketing events to gain new relationships and grow market share.
- Performs other related duties.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Two to five years’ teller experience in a credit union or bank.
- Working knowledge of financial services products and basic lending practices is desired.
- Demonstrated sales ability in either a financial institution or retail store is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated computer skills and familiarity with software programs such as Word, Excel and others such as MeridianLink Loans PQ and CalyxPoint.
- Demonstrated inter-personal communication and member contact skills, by email and telephone.
- Maintains good attendance record.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

- Keyboarding, up to 80% of the time.
- Prolonged sitting or standing throughout the workday.
- View computer screen, up to 90% of the time.
- Use of telephone, up to 50% of the time.
- Bend/stoop to lift up to 30 pounds, up to 5% of the time.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed in a normal business office environment. Job requires occasional travel to other branches, meetings or to community events.
