PAY SCALE: $85,000 to $95,000

Sacramento Credit Union is seeking candidates who thrive as leaders and excel at providing exceptional customer service for our Branch Manager III position at our Elk Grove branch.  The Branch Manager is responsible for the sales activities including mortgage loan originations; planning, managing, overseeing of the marketing and business development of the branch; manages and develops staff to support the sales and service goals of the organization. Under minimal supervision, provides management, sales and functional support; monitors reports, develops policy and procedural improvements.  This position requires knowledge of credit union/banking operations, laws, regulations and consumer and mortgage loan origination and processing principles.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • *Plans, manages and oversees the sales and service operating functions.  Directs department objectives, policies and procedures to ensure optimal quality, member satisfaction and strategic goals are achieved. Ensures that daily operations achieve business objectives.
  • *Develops leads for and originates mortgage and consumer loans based in part on referral sources (i.e. branch staff, members and outside sources) and reports.
  • * As a Mortgage Loan Originator, must register with NMLS Registry and keep registration information current.
  • *Provides management and leadership coaching to assigned staff.  Ensures a competent, motivated staff through training, coaching, counseling and reviewing performance of employees.  Recommends individuals for hiring, promotion, discipline and/or termination.
  • *Perform sales techniques including needs assessment, credit report reading, outbound calling and train/coach assigned staff to do the same.
  • *Completes monthly one-on-one documented coaching and regularly meets with staff to identify their strengths and opportunities.
  • *Provides resource support and assistance in areas such as: new account and loan production, balancing branch cash, ATMs and searching for outages.
  • *Ensures that the primary components of a service quality program are in place for the branch unit.
  • *Ensures quality control for all branch activities.
  • *Leads or participates in process improvement discussions. Communicates operational changes to staff.
  • *Assesses local market through outbound efforts such as calling, visiting businesses and participating in local marketing events in order to gain new business.
  • *Compiles, analyzes and tracks data for operational and special reports.
  • *Develops, recommends and implements service, policy and procedural improvements.
  • *Participates in community events.

Necessary Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in business or the equivalent in related work experience.
  • Demonstrated progressive experience in sales, preferably in a financial institution. 
  • Demonstrated experience in mortgage origination is preferred.
  • Knowledge of credit union policies, procedures, laws and regulations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of loan principles and practices.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of human resources policies, procedures, issues and regulations.
  • Demonstrated computer skills and familiarity with software programs such as Word, Excel and others such as MeridianLink Loans PQ and CalyxPoint.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage people.
  • Ability to maintain effective communication and working relationships with all levels of the organization and business contacts.
